This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC), GS-2210-13, your typical work assignments may include:
Defining and managing IT and/or cybersecurity related programs and/or projects, or other area of responsibility, to include strategic direction for program initiatives and activities, personnel, infrastructure, policy enforcement, emergency planning, IT and/or cybersecurity awareness, and/or other resources.
Providing oversight to ensure program/project work is adhere to the larger strategic view developed by senior management and serves as the point of contact for elevating unexpected issues that may arise to senior leadership.
Responsible for program/project resources, allocation plans, workforce development plans, budget forecasts, initiatives, and policies.
Identifying the need for changes based on new security technologies or threats; reviewing proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks; formulating agency-level IT security program initiatives in response to critical IT security issues; developing long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.

Qualifications
Individual Occupational Requirement
This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement that must be met prior to meeting the specialized experience.
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Specialized Experience
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:
