The primary purpose of this position is to manage organization's security program in order to effectively ensure all personnel are trained/aware of their security roles and responsibilities. Promote continuous improvement of security programs by providing technical guidance and/or direct support in monitoring efficacy of security measures associated with programs. Enable unit capabilities by identifying resources necessary to enact security requirements based on risk management principles.
Duties
Administers the Information Security program for the organization. Administers DoD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and implements procedures for the classification and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information.
Administers the Industrial Security program. Provides technical guidance in development of program requirements in conjunction with Contracting Officers to ensure all solicitations and contracts include the appropriate security clauses and language.
Administers the Personnel Security Program. Enforces local procedures for initiating and processing requests for security clearance investigations for military and civilian personnel.
Provides organization OPSEC guidance. Establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of OPSEC activities. Applies information protection principles to effectively mitigate OPSEC vulnerabilities.
Implements and administers the Physical Security Program. Implements DOD, USAF, and MAJCOM policies and develops local procedures for assigned facilities.
Represents organization with DoD, USAF, HQ AFMC and various Center organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with these organizations.

- This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection
- This position is designated as a national security position.
- Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
- This position meets the administrative exemption criteria for the Fair Labor Standards Act (5 CFR 551.206).
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- Work may occasionally require the employee to work outside the normal business hours.
- Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of physical, information, industrial, personnel, and operations security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation and supported organizations.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
