This HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) is located in the Recruitment and Retention Battalion of the California Army National Guard (CAARNG) and is part of the CA Recruiting and Retention.
Duties
THIS IS A T5 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION
The primary purpose of the HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-9, is to provide technical expertise and guidance for all military personnel assigned in the state, and oversee the functions of one of the following human resource programs: Officer Personnel Management (OPM), Enlisted Personnel Management (EPM), Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A), or the Personnel Services Section.
Qualifications
HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY), GS-0201-9: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-07 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experience serving as an advisor to commanders on assigned unit human resources (HR) program; Experience initiating action for the issuance of all military orders relating to military personnel actions and distributing accordingly; Experience overseeing the direction of the Personnel Services Section and functions as the technical expert; Accomplishes and oversees the accomplishment of technical support work in the program area assigned with the assistance of subordinate employees which may be Active Guard Reserve (AGR), full time Technician, or civilian.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work
