You will serve as a Public Affairs Specialist in the Executive Directorate Division, Code 1031 of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties
You will develop, execute and evaluate a strategy and process for integrated distribution of multimedia content on internal and external channels including NRL's website and official social media.
You will develop creative content highlighting topical areas of interest to internal and external shareholders and use web content management systems to publish content.
You will actively write, edit and share NRL stories with local. national and international media to highlight the value of the Laboratory and its research efforts.
You will develop and brief campaign plans using a variety of media tools to NRL Executive leadership.
You will serve as the functional authority and technical expert concerning NRL's web-based and social media outreach programs and development of new social media program initiatives.
You will help generate compelling, tailored content to tell the Laboratory's story and advance strategic communication goals using press releases, video, photos, speeches, presentations, etc.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05/10) or pay band (NO-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: (1) Developing and executing a strategy and process for integrated distribution on multimedia content on internal and external channels; (2) Developing news and press releases; (3) Developing and briefing campaign plans to upper management; (4) Generating compelling, tailored content to release on organization's multimedia platforms to communicate the mission to internal and external audience; (5) Effectively communicate complex information orally and in writing.

Education
The following can be substituted in order to meet the minimum qualification requirements of this position:

- 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
