About the Position: Position serves as a Joint Policy Military Human Resources Manager in the Joint Management Office, U.S. Army Human Resources Command (AHRC), Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1 in Human Resources Command (HRC), Force Shaping Directorate (FSD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Provide complex, substantive management support services in officer promotion board management, joint policy management, forecasting, processing, and management of the promotion board system.
Respond to inquiries from DA and Joint staff activities on matters pertaining to joint policy and the Army's application of Chapter 38, Title 10 USC.
Prepare briefing materials, such as charts and graphs to clearly portray the status of joint personnel management information.
Provide recommendations on development, analysis, quality control, and data retrieval.
Maintain currency on the Joint Duty Assignment Management Information System (JDAMIS), Force structure authorizations, (MTOE/TDA) and Total Army Personnel Data Base (TAPD) data accuracy updates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has already been met.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position requires travel away from the normal duty station up to 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: : 1) performing program management as it relates to officers' assignments and personnel actions, 2) conducting reviews on staffing actions to determine the program's impact, 3) conducting studies on laws and regulations to develop guidance on the management of officers programs and ensures compliance to laws, regulations and program requirements, and 4) providing customer service on actions related to Joint Duty Authorization Lists. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Position may be filled as a TEMPORARY Promotion NTE 1 year by a current permanent Army employee.
TEMPORARY Promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Position may be filled as a TEMPORARY Appointment NTE 1 year if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee.
TEMPORARY Appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three years.
Education
