This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This vacancy is for a Logistics Management Specialist position located at Fort Huachuca Az.
Duties
Serve as staff and technical advisor to the Activity Director on a broad range of Army COMSEC-INFOSEC, Information Assurance and logistics management policies, concepts, and principles.
Advise the Director on significant actions, progress and problems in weapons systems development, logistics training, current operations, concepts and doctrine.
Address setbacks such as budget cuts and develop alternative approaches to keep programs on time and cost efficient.
Represent Command at conference, functions, and meetings to ensure Commands intent is shared, and negotiated.
Participate in the development and implementation of system projects and logistics objectives.
Provide briefings to internal/external stakeholders such as management officials, and technical representatives, to prevent duplication of efforts and ensure effectiveness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must participate in the Direct Deposit pay program.
- Obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Life Cycle Logistics certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- One year probationary period nay be required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluating policies, procedures, and ,conceptual studies; AND 2) Developing guidance for short and long range logistical plans; AND 3) Performing Project management and Logistical procedures throughout the contract life cycle to ensure accuracy /compliance.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
