About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Public Works on Fort Campbell, KY.
Duties
Develop step by step plans for accomplishing construction projects.
Conduct site visits on project to ensure meeting the scope of work.
Evaluate contractor’s proposals for technical acceptance.
Make decisions on design issues during construction phase to keep the project progressing.
Prepare cost estimates with first-hand information of site conditions for use in preparing contract.

- This position requires a valid state driver's license.
- This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing contracts for facility repair construction projects and recommend approval or disapproval of proposals; 2) Conducting site visits to identify requirements of work request and determine condition of facilities prior to initiating design for projects; 3) Planning and writing statement (scope) of work for project requirements, i.e., design feasibility, cost variables/estimates, economic maintenance aspects; and 4) Using Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and estimating software packages to create schematic drawings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
