This position is located in Refugee, Asylum and International Operations, Mission Operations Division, Resource Management Branch, Travel Section. Every day, our Management and Program Analyst (Travel) works with challenging issues and a large customer base to address domestic and international travel needs and performs travel and analytical related functions for the RAIO Directorate.

Duties

Serve as Travel Section subject matter expert lead to coordinate travel workload requirements, develop travel-related cost estimates, and work with contractors and field support staff to resolve travel-related problems. Organize mission-related travel functions, goals, objectives, and work processes, which includes coordinating the creation and review of travel document submissions. Research and conduct analysis of federal travel regulations. Serve as an administrator of agency-based travel and funding systems and utilize established government regulations pertaining to the funding of travel documents and approval of proper reimbursable expenses.

Qualifications

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/31/2024. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/31/2024. Selective Placement Factor: You must have experience coordinating international and domestic travel for large groups of federal employees in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) OR Department of State Standardized Regulations (DSSR). This experience must be documented in your resume. Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties: Independently direct the coordination of all aspects of mission-related domestic and international travel for large groups of travelers., including research, preparation, review, and submission of requests for foreign entry visas, Diplomatic and Official Passports, and Department of State Country Clearances. Audit travel expense reports for accuracy and adherence to existing travel policy and regulations. Direct the development of evaluation plans, procedures and methodologies. Plan, develop, and coordinate briefing and training materials for designated programs. Research and investigate new or improved business and management practices to determine the impact on travel program operations.
