You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the CORPORATE BUSINESS & ANALYSIS GROUP, SECURITY DEPTARTMENT, SECURITY SUPPORT DIVISION, SECURITY ADMINISTRATIVE BRANCH of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will formulate, coordinate, and conduct the activity security education and training program.
You will assure compliance with established security policies and procedures and coordinate command security requirements as required.
You will provide comprehensive in person briefings to small and large audiences, virtual briefings via Teams, and audio-visual facilitation for guest briefers when necessary.
You will apply security policy to ensure Command personnel have the skills, knowledge, and information to enable quality performance of security functions and responsibilities.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower pay band. This requirement is called time-in-band. Time-in-band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DA-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Leading other security specialists and assistants from an oversight perspective; 2) Working knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI); 3) Developing and providing security related training briefs to workforce under area of cognizance; 4) Collaborating with leadership on research projects, identifying viable solutions to problems, and establishing priorities.
DA-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DA-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working knowledge of security policies and procedures for the proper protection, handling and marking of controlled unclassified information (CUI); 2) Providing security related training briefs to workforce under area of cognizance; 3) Communicating with leadership on research projects, identifying viable solutions to problems, and establishing priorities.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
