The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a logistics planner for Joint Task Force North. Responsible for Joint logistical planning and responsive logistical support to Army, Air Force, Marine, and Naval forces conducting Counter Drug/Counter Narco-Terrorism missions.
Duties
Planning and execution of logistical support for Counter Drug deployments.
Provides technical advice on Counter-Drug logistics readiness issues.
Serves as the Joint Task Force-North's representative with a variety of installation, commercial, DoD, and non-DoD federal state, and local law enforcement agencies/organizations.
Technical Logistical Expert. Provides recommendations and guidance to Joint Task Force (JTF) leadership on business processes and performance/efficiency of JTF logistics.

- This position has been designated as Critical Sensitive. The employee is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance as a condition of employment.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administration and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of federal agency and Joint logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, regulations and laws applicable to a full range of logistics management responsibilities. Knowledge of a wide range of logistics concepts in warehousing, transportation, fleet management, supply, warehousing, logistics planning to provide technical guidance to the development of program goals, plans, policies, and procedures and work plans dealing with the development of JTF-N strategic visions, to evaluate overall logistics process effectiveness, and to recommend methods to help the JTF optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and recommend improvements for program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of DoD, federal, state, and local agency logistics management concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles management, vehicle and equipment maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning and operations, and logistic plans under peacetime conditions.
Knowledge of contractual processes, procedures, and technical requirements to develop and recommend JTF policies and procedures.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
Skill in analyzing issues and formulating solutions to complex problems.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of TACON assets to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social).
