About the Position: Incumbent will Serves as the Maintenance Officer, with the Army Field Support Battalion a complex multi-mission installation, providing the full range of maintenance operations and services. Manages the division staff directly and through subordinate supervisors and performs the full range of first and second line supervisory functions. Government civilian employees, active duty/reserve military personnel and/or contractors, may perform operations
Duties
Reviews and approves budget and fund estimates, ensuring that estimates provide for current and scheduled mission requirements.
Conducts continuing analysis of maintenance activities, by observing operations through visits to the work sites and reviewing and analyzing statistical data and reports to determine whether objectives have been met
Provides information for submission to higher echelons
Reviews performance data against standards and recommends tests, equipment modifications, training for users and repairers, and other corrective measures
Coordinates the distribution of maintenance workloads, reallocates workloads, and assigns specific jobs to both contractor and TDA/TOE shops as necessary.
Serves as the single staff officer to exercise overall management of the installation maintenance program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Position requires incumbent employee to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- This position is designated as "Emergency Essential" In the event of a crisis situation or wartime, the incumbent must continue to perform the duties and requirements of the position to ensure the success of combat operations.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience managing, evaluating and analyzing logistics programs and/or operations; directing complex logistics program management/mission activities supportive of combat and contingency units; development and/or participation of logistics policy proposals; and overseeing work of subordinates and/or contractors. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
