About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the 7th Signal Command, 106th Signal Brigade located in Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Duties

Reviews, analyzes, changes, documents, and update the hardware and software system configurations. Maintains, updates, assigns and controls all ID's to include, block ID's, radio ID numbers, talk group ID's and encryption secure codes used on the system. The SA will also review all vendor system software, hardware, and firmware upgrade announcements and programming templates for their applicability to Installation's Radio Trunk System usage. Performs assignments involving automation and/or communications requirements. Prepares and updates instructions, and operating procedures.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
• The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET clearance with T5 Investigation.
• Incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoDM 8140.03, Cyberspace workforce qualification
• and management program, dated 15 Feb 2023 or updated version and/or additional guidance.
• This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing IAW AR600-85. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will participate in drug urinalysis testing,
• unless currently occupying a TDP within the Department of Defense. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as
• Critical Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program) requiring participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment.
• A job offer to an applicant who is a not a current employee will be withdrawn if the applicant refuses to be tested. Applicants with verified positive test results shall be refused employment.
• Applications from such individuals shall not be considered for employment for a period of 6 months from the date of the test results.
• A pre-employment physical is required.
• In performing above duties, overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements. May be on call 24 hours.
• Work may require travel away from the normal duty station on an infrequent basis up to 10% of the time.
• Required to possess a valid state driver's license to operate government owned vehicles (GOV) for official use.
• Subject to callback requirement to report to duty within 2 hours of notification due to mission requirements.
