You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Advanced Security Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will be responsible for assisting and providing program protection in the interest of national security.
You will plan, implement and administer the Special Access Program (SAP)/Special Access Required (SAR) Security ensuring SAP/SAR security programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
You will operate within a security team or serve as the alternate Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO) providing advice and assisting the team lead in all aspects of SAP/SAR security programs needed to complete the organization's mission.
You will provide support in the areas of program protection planning; personnel, industrial, physical and Information Systems (IS).
You will prepare, review and evaluate program and security documentation to ensure adequate protection is provided in accordance with program requirements

- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

At the DA-02 Level:
Three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05-08) or pay band (DA-01) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Utilizing analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations; (2) Analyzing data related to facility planning and assessments, making sound recommendations to management; and (3) Reading and understanding documentation related to facility planning, contracts, and requirements.
At the DA-03 Level:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05-08) or pay band (DA-02) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of a Security Specialist. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Utilizing analytical principles, practices, and techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationships with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations; (2) Performing work related to INFOSEC, PERSEC, PHYSEC as it relates to both the command security program protecting classified information and force protection/mission assurance applications; (3) Independently analyzing data related to facility planning and assessments, making sound recommendations to management, and coordinating internally and externally for implementation of management direction; and (4) Reading and understanding documentation related to facility planning, contracts, and requirements.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
At the DA-02 Level:
Successful completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience
At the DA-03 Level:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
