You will serve as a Program Analyst/Assistant Project Manager (APM) in the Program Office for Strategic and Theater Sealift (PMS 385) of PROGRAM EXECUTIVE OFFICE SHIPS.
Duties
You will serve as a Program Analyst/Assistant Project Manager (APM) assigned to the Next Generation Submarine Tender shipbuilding program (AS(X).
You will develop and implement improvement and efficiency strategies for programming, budgeting and procurement based on findings from key program specialists and analyst.
You will identify and facilitate potential solutions and evaluate technical, cost, and schedule implications of each viable solution.
You will coordinate with the AS(X) Principal Assistant Program Manager to manage and oversee the shipbuilder, warfare centers, and other performers supporting the program.
You will coordinate with other Navy stakeholders to conduct cost/tradeoff studies, develop detailed requirements, approve acquisition plans, develop preliminary and detail ship design documents.
You will plan future aspects of program development, deployment, operation, and maintenance.
You will plan and conduct investigations, analyses to determine optimal design and acquisition strategy for the AS(X) program.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band (NH-3) or grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing or evaluating program requirements to support ship construction or modernization efforts. Qualifying experience may include recommending optimum technical and economic tradeoffs to integrate existing subsystems, components, assemblies, parts, and associated equipment; making projections regarding ramifications, costs, performance probabilities, and potential problems in modifying, eliminating, or introducing performance capability; developing preliminary and detail ship design documents, and initiating a formal shipbuilding program to meet the new ship construction efforts.
