About the Position: Serves as a Funds Management Technician (Office Automation) with U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence located Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.

Duties

Prepares fund citation letters, maintain student information, and upload pertinent information into the General Fund Enterprise Business System. Compiles and summarizes cost estimate data with actual costs by querying databases, researching documentation, and resolving discrepancies. Assists analysts in preparing annual budget requirements by gathering and compiling data received from managers. Consolidates, organizes, and summarizes complex data for inclusion in the accounting system and in required status of funds reports from a variety of source documents.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain and Secret Clearance.
  • Qualified typist able to type 40 words per minute (WPM) is required.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position. Incumbent is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing budgetary documents for compliance with regulations; preparing budget reports from statistical data; reconciling accounts in support of funding programs and budget planning; using automated systems such as word processing, spreadsheet and database software to develop methods for automating reports; applying rules and regulations to perform a full range of tasks involving budget and clerical support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management SystemsFinancial StewardshipFundamentals & Operations of FinanceReasoning (Clerical/Technical) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
