You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT ofNAVSUP FLC SD GF.
Duties
You will provide entitlements for movement/storage of domestic/international shipments/POVs.
You will support the development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives and automated technology systems for the DoD Personal Property Program.
You will arrange for the pickup and/or delivery of personal property shipments for inbound and outbound HHG/UB/NTS.
You will Research regulations, files and multiple automated systems to approve transportation requests.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Qualifications
GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing Transportation Assistant work applying a knowledge and application of an extensive body of transportation regulations, methods, and practices of traffic management as it applies to the storage and shipment management of personal property to include household goods, unaccompanied baggage, and privately owned vehicles (POVs). You also have experience applying knowledge of automated transportation systems to identify, research, and reconcile errors that require an understanding of nonstandard transportation procedures, as well as experience analyzing problems and identifying solutions concerning invoices, storage, quality assurance issues, and customer and transportation service provide disagreements. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Investigating and resolving invoicing, storage and shipment management issues related to a wide range of specialized shipments; 2) Utilizing automated computer systems to certify invoices and to identify and research transportation discrepancies; 3) Performing shipment related tasks including placing shipment in Storage in Transit (SIT), providing required documents to Transportation Service Providers (TSP) and/or contractors, and processing shipment changes.
GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing work requiring the application of transportation regulations, methods and practices to perform interrelated or nonstandard transportation support assignments and assist in resolving problems/issues related to the movement and storage. (Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Reviewing orders and determining the extent of entitlements and eligibility for the shipment; 2) Explaining shipment and storage options, excess costs, special procedures for shipments under various types of orders; 3) Assisting in performing a wide range of personal property shipment management functions including household goods entitlements, personal property counseling, inbound and outbound shipment management, temporary storage and non-temporary storage; 4) Utilizing automated systems to reconcile errors, track shipment, storage and delivery services.
