Duties

You will serve as the lead technical subject matter expert for the LWTC and oversee support for the installation and maintenance of software and hardware. You will control current versions and future releases of applications, software, and documentation of the physical configuration of facility and associated infrastructure. You will be responsible for optimizing the functionality of networks and systems and diagnosing and executing recovery programs for failed systems. You will use fundamental information technology (IT) principles and policies to reconcile conflicting technical viewpoints and guidance. You will provide expertise in planning, testing, operating, troubleshooting, maintaining information technology systems, computer hardware, software systems and audio/visual support systems, along with coordination and installation of these systems.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 411 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to a hostile area or CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying operating systems software principles and methods, IT concepts, principles, and methods and practices, while having a working understanding of Marine Corps C41 systems, communication requirements and tactical communications equipment interface.
