You will serve as a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Policy & Plans) in the Operations Division of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) relating to planning, integrating, monitoring, and managing ofG6 hosted and supported servers, systems, storage, and server virtual/ physical infrastructures. You will evaluate system problems, recommends improvements, and ways to provide greater effectiveness and economy of services. You will participate fully in the development of long and short-range planning in those areas related to advisory, technical, and administrative services. You will be responsible for the direction, planning and implementation of sustaining installations and strategic IT services supporting customers. You will evaluate work performance of subordinates. gives advice, counsels, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix (described in SECNAV M-5239.2)
  • A minimum of 40 hours of Cyber IT/CSWF related continuous learning annually documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing technical specifications of DOD and DON IT policies and regulations. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing and translating technical specifications of defined customer requirements into integrated applications. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: presenting clear, consise and well-structured oral presentations. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: making provisions for development and training of cross-training. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a senior IT specialist analyzing or managing information technology (IT) system plans in the development, implementation and maintenance of policy and standards.
