You will serve as a SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE COORDINATOR at the U.S.NAVAL ACADEMY.

Duties

You will manage SAPR cases and referrals. You will interview and elicit data from source of complaint, concern, or issue to determine the merits and validity of the allegations. You will develop process improvements for efficiency and responsiveness to customer requirements. You will analyze situation reports involving sexual assault to improve program efficiency or effectiveness. You will serve as the point of contact to coordinate response activities and oversee both military and civilian SAPR VAs in providing a non-clinical response to adult victims of sexual assault

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the incumbent to carry a USNA duty phone 24/7 on a standby basis and to manage victim response via the phone or in person on a rotational schedule with other Victim Advocates and/or SARCs.
  • Must be certified in DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) or National Advocate Credentialing Program (NACP) within 6 months of employment.
  • Incumbent must receive favorable ANACI background investigation.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following: 1) Serving as point of contact regarding sexual assault response in a college/university environment; including initial contact, coordination of response services, case management and referral to appropriate services such as medical services and psychotherapy; 2) Maintaining ongoing contact with victims to ensure optimal support over time; 3) Providing essential professional expertise/experience in the dynamics of sexual assault victim trauma response, how to interact with victims, ways to manage victims' expectations of and reactions to the system, and short- and long-term victim support mechanisms to ensure that best practices in response and case management are applied; and 4) Collaborating on SAPR training and education programs in a college/university environment.
