You will serve as a VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAPR) at the U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY.
Duties
You will provide care and non-clinical support to adult victims of a sexual assault and sexual harassment.
You will explain all available SAPR services to the victim and refer to the equal opportunity office for official reporting of sexual harassment.
You will safeguard documents and all information pertaining to victims' sexual harassment.
You will immediately identify the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) of sexual assault incidents, providing the necessary demographic and/or incident detail for their through documentation.
You will accompany victims to appointments, investigator interviews, and civilian and military court proceedings, as appropriate and when requested by the victim.
You will assist the installation SARC in the development and delivery of comprehensive sexual harassment training.
You will conduct SAPR training at various locations using standardized curriculum for healthcare professionals, chaplains, judge advocates, law enforcement and other stakeholders on SAPR reporting options.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position requires the incumbent to carry a USNA duty phone 24/7 on a standby basis and to manage victim response via the phone or in person on a rotational schedule with other Victim Advocates and/or SARCs.
- Must be certified in DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) or National Advocate Credentialing Program(NACP).
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of SPECIALIZED experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of the primary prevention principles, sexual assault dynamics, concepts,
principles and theories, and resources for sexual assault, victim advocacy, and the prevention and response to provide one-on-one victim advocacy assistance and information to sexual assault victims. 2) Working with a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to ensure comprehensive care for victims throughout the reporting process; 3) Providing victims resources to include: reporting options, behavioral health services, available legal resources, SAPR resources, and victim rights and responsibilities to individuals who may need them; 4) Collaborating with the SARC on developing and coordinating Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) training, public awareness campaigns, and local events, and on implementing primary prevention initiatives to aid in eliminating sexual assault incidents before they occur.

Basic Requirements
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
