Duties
You will serve as an Integrated Prevention Coordinator (IPC) in one of the following program areas: Wellness and Prevention or Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR).
You will directly support/lead Midshipmen (approximately 70-80) who serve as peer support resources.
You will advise command leaders on training, intervention, response, and reporting in one or more of areas of: suicide, substance abuse, sexual harassment/assault prevention, family and interpersonal/workplace violence, or military equal opportunity.
You will represent USNA at public forums and meetings with senior leadership to discuss special studies or research projects.
You will liaise with professionals (e.g., counselors, chaplains, commands, community support centers) to coordinate prevention programs.
You will identify common themes, trends, compliance history, causal factors, or other parameters related to special study or research topics.
You will develop, coordinate, and conduct training for prevention programs.
You will maintain up to date prevention and crisis intervention plans and policies for USNA.
Requirements

- You will be required to complete training and obtain the DoD Credential for Prevention Personnel (D-CPP).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing and Implementing prevention assessments and evaluations to reduce and prevent problematic/destructive behaviors, such as: suicide, sexual harassment, sexual assault, substance misuse, family and interpersonal violence, workplace violence, and military equal opportunity, etc.; 2) Planning, managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training, education, and outreach for integrated prevention programs; 3) Consolidating and analyzing data from command climate reports, unit status reports, installation data and other sources to identify critical prevention needs and develop and provide recommendations for addressing such needs; and 4) Leading prevention programs and activities by advising installation and unit leaders on prevention action plans and initiatives. Basic Requirements:
Have successfully completed a behavioral or social science degree, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of education and experience that provided knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Have four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
