About the Position: This position is located in the U.S. Army Engineer School, 1st Engineer Brigade 577th Engineer Battalion,Fort Leonard Wood, MO.
Fort Leonard Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, bordering Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2-hour drive east and Springfield is a 1-hour drive west of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Teach officer, enlisted, civilian, and foreign student personnel on a variety of Land/Mine related equipment and operations.
Monitor and instruct student application during practical exercises.
Responsible for accountability of tools, training aids, and equipment ensuring proper use, care and maintenance.
Develop revision of new and existing Lesson Plans, Programs of Instruction, Skill Level Qualification Tests, and other course materials
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Position is approved for Hazardous Duty Pay and incumbent is eligible for hazard duty pay differential when assigned to work in an area approved for hazardous duty pay.
- This position may require employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
- This position requires the employee drive a motor vehicle; an appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
- Incumbent is subject to a medical clearance examination prior to employment and may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. One year of specialized experience demonstrating a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: Teaching or instructing in an adult education program, secondary school, college, military installation, or industrial establishment in the appropriate field(s); Developing or reviewing of training/course materials, aids, devices, etc., and evaluation of training results; Working in the occupation or subject-matter field of the position to be filled. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
