About the Position: This is an Information Technology Specialist (Security) position with the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Incumbent will serve as the Information System Owner in S6 of the 100th Missile Defense Command. This position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Duties

Ensures the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for the Integrated Electronic Security System (IESS) at Fort Greely, Alaska (FGA) and Fort Drum New York (FDNY). Serves as the focal point for the integration of cybersecurity into and throughout the system life cycle of the FGA and FDNY IESS. Performs all duties and responsibilities as a Contract Officer Representative (COR) monitoring including assessing IESS contract support at FGA and FDNY. Plans for the operation, maintenance, life cycle management, and disposal of the IESS

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
• Drug Test Required: This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position may require up to 50% TDY travel to Fort Drum New York or Fort Greely Alaska in order to work with assigned ISSOs on each system
• This position requires the ability to meet requirements of Individual Reliability Program IAW Army Regulation 190-56.

Basic Requirement for Information Technology Specialist (Security): Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Applying IT security principles and methods to carry out activities leading to security assessment and authorizations; Assisting with developing information system security plans for implementation; Utilizing applications to support the management of organizational risk, such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF) or similar process; And Coordinating activities relating to pre-award or post award contracting functions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11). The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
