This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent serves as a senior financial management analyst and project lead responsible for providing assistance and guidance concerning quality control activities.
Duties
As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as Directorate Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
Performs quality control activities, process improvement events, financial management assessments, and audit related initiatives.
Develops policies and procedures impacting efficiency and effectiveness of financial management operations.
Collaborates with key stakeholders to improve internal controls, policies, and procedures.
Prepares annual quality control plan to assess budget, finance, audit, cost, information technology, and program analysis related business functions.
Performs quality control activities, coordinating with USTRANSCOM Enterprise-wide personnel to design projects and process required deliverables.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, military, or private sector:
Organizing a significant amount of information from numerous stakeholders to facilitate study results.
Analyzing and preparing information for senior leadership approval.
Performing analysis of existing information to formulate opinions or findings to develop potential courses of action for decision makers.
Persuading or negotiating with decision-making officials to follow a recommended course of action.
Developing plans to implement changes across a command or organization.
Presenting information to diverse audience members, from peers to most senior level personnel.
Providing written correspondence and staff summary packages.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
