Duties
You will participate as a member of a team of application programmers in the development and implementation of the Open Database Connectivity.
You will utilize approved standard application development software tools such as Microsoft SharePoint Portal, Web Parts, Web Services and Active Directory Integration on current and past Server Enterprise Manager.
You will perform application design utilizing Rapid Application Design techniques, debugs applications, develops Software Test Plans and direct system testing.
You will analyze and translate system specifications into application program code, test, debug and document computer applications in support of core business applications.
You will consult with customers to refine requirements and develop prototypes for customer review.
You will design database requirements, including data structures, data collection requirements, and backup requirements.
You will perform application testing, integration, and develop Life Cycle Management (LCM) documentation required to sustain systems.
You will install and maintain application development toll libraries and ensure compatibility of all system components.
You will analyze existing systems and develop upgrades and interfaces to provide increased functionality and/or insertion of new technology capabilities.
You will perform systems analysis and design tasks related to general and Automated Information Systems (AIS) security.
You will draft security plans, policies, and procedures.
You will develop standard security configurations, tests software for security vulnerabilities, review security incident reports, and correct security deficiencies.
You will initiate actions to accredit newly developed systems or components.
You will initiate actions to reaccredit systems based on system changes or accreditation renewal.
You will identify system auditing requirements and reviews all audit logs for intentional or unintentional security violations.
You will provide audit feedback to the lead programmer and division director on a regular basis.
You will consult with customers to identify and specify system requirements for new systems or for new versions of existing systems in accordance with established LCM standards.
You will work with the project manager and the customer to translate customer requirements into system specifications and record these in the System Requirements Specification (SyRS) Document for use during the development process.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Consulting with customers to identify and specify requirements; analyzing and refining system requirements; translating system requirements into application prototypes; writing, debugging, and maintaining code; determining and designing application architecture; determining output media/formats; designing user interfaces; working with customers to test applications; assuring software and systems quality and functionality; integrating hardware and software components; writing and maintaining program documentation; evaluating new applications software technologies; ensuring the integration of all system components (e.g. procedures, databases, policies, software, and hardware); planning systems implementation; AND ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles and practices to the delivery of application software services.

Education
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09:
I have successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR
I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
