About the Position: This position is in the Department of the Army, Criminal Investigation Division (DACID), Biometric Operations Department (BOD). The BOD is the Department of Defense's (DoD) only authoritative biometric repository that provides management, sharing, and matching activities within the biometric enterprise. Position is located in Clarksburg, WV.
Duties
Conduct multimodal biometric image processing, searching, and examinations to compare AFIS-generated candidate lists of print, face, and iris biometrics and perform manual comparisons of multimodal biometrics.
Analyze and develop new or proposed biometrics and forensics directives and regulations in accordance with federal laws and DoD goals, objectives, and strategic communication as they pertain to the Biometric Operations Department (BOD).
Advise leadership on the organization, methods, and procedures for biometrics and forensics enterprise architecture, policies, procedures, directives, records, forms, files, documentation, standards, and inter-service staffing actions about the BOD.
Coordinate and synchronize new or improved biometrics and forensics business and management practices for application throughout the Joint Services, interagency, multinational, and deployed environments as they pertain to the BOD.
Responsible for the management of data sharing procedures, technical mechanisms for dissemination, audience, publication procedures, and archiving procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- DRUG TESTING: This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes administering complex biometric forensic programs across the organization; and advising senior leaders on recommendations to improve overall forensic and biometric operational effectiveness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
