About the Position: You will serve as the Interface Control Specialist for the Military Operations Branch. The primary focus is managing all Biometrics Operations Directorate (BOD) technical interfaces, processing methodology, information technology, automation capabilities, and processing techniques; involves coordinating and integrating technical aspects of biometric identity management systems into mission and organizational capabilities.

Duties

Direct the integration of operational modalities, including fingerprint, iris, facial, and palm identifications for the Automated Biometrics Identification System (ABIS), other repositories and non-automated biometrics identification. Analyze and perform information systems planning as the interface function between Authoritative databases and the biometrics community of interest, to include Joint, Interagency, and Coalition entities. Advise on biometrics interface needs and issues to ensure that policies relevant to actual biometrics operating environments and functional requirements are implemented. Serve as section lead responsible for completing projects that are important segments of much larger overall efforts and the organization's mission. Resolve various technical database interface issues and serves as government lead to ensure assistance with regards to operational requirements and capabilities. Advise staff, or appropriate action office, on problem identification and resolution in interfacing with the repositories, and documents actions taken. Conduct planning studies and provides both documentation and oral presentations.

Requirements

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data ManagementOral CommunicationSystems Design and Integration Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
