You will serve as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Digital, Information Technology, Analysis & Cyber Department of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.
Duties
You will perform risk assessments to support cybersecurity efforts.
You will evaluate onsite and remote laboratory security practices, configuration management processes, and technical configurations.
You will document assessment results and prepare recommendations for leadership.
You will communicate regularly with stakeholders and leadership teams.
You will clarify technical standards during requirements meetings and schedule assessments during laboratory walkthroughs.
You will monitor and record metrics to provide insights for process improvement.
Requirements

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 511, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
DS-05:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band (DS-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Leading a group of security assessment personnel to develop Security Assessment Plans; 2) Identifying, prioritizing, managing, and monitoring risks to information systems; 3) Testing and evaluating security controls to determine vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation; 4) Preparing risk assessment recommendations and reports to the appropriate Security Control Assessor. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
DS-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band (DS-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate duties related to the following: 1) Assisting with the development of Security Assessment Plans; 2) Identifying, prioritizing, managing, and monitoring risks to information systems; 3) Testing and evaluating security controls to determine vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation; 4) Assisting with preparing risk assessment recommendations and reports to the appropriate Security Control Assessor. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
DS-04:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
