About the Position: Serves as a Health System Assistant for Womack Army Medical Center's Credentialing and Privileging Program. Applies practical knowledge of program and related administrative procedures. Uses established automated systems to enter, correct, and retrieve information,compile reports, produce charts or monitor program status.
Duties
Coordinate the administrative aspects of the credentialing program.
Monitor compliance of provider peer review, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) to ensure compliance with Joint Commission andother regulatory standards.
Record and complete meeting minutes.
File and scan documents, archive files for providers who have out-processed the credentials office.
Independently establishes and maintains electronic credentials files for appropriate individual sentering Active Duty, Civil Service, and contract employment for the first time.
Prepare privileged and non-privileged provider profiles and enters required information concerning education, training, licensure, performance, and other pertinent required data.
Government Purchase Card holder; required to complete all required training and refresher training.
Request funding for purchases at the end of the billing cycle.
Conduct periodic screening and purging of individual files in accordance with DHA, Federal, and State regulations and directives.
Utilize information extracted from database reports for appropriate credentials documentation and independently initiates correspondence or telephonically contacts
Notify the individual nurse/provider and their chain of command, as appropriate, when licensure nears expiration and when they expire.
Use knowledge of administrative programs and operations to refer individuals to appropriate party.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required to include Tuberculosis testing. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with the credentialing programs and maintain credentialing files for providers within a medical treatment facility, utilizing office automation software to enter and retrieve data for reports and completing general office duties such as recording meeting minutes, greeting customers telephonically or in person, or filing or scanning documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors
