Incumbent serves as a Legal Instruments Examiner for the Aircraft Registration Branch, Technical Section of the Civil Aviation Registry Division. Performs multiple, varying, and often complex assignments under the limited/minimal direction of the manager within the Technical Section.

Duties

Examines conveyances, registration number applications, and other security instruments pertaining to aircraft, engines, propellers and/or spare parts locations and determines acceptability for registration number assignment and/or eligibility for recordation.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
• Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Successful completion of a security investigation may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (GS/FG-12/13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-G (GS/FG-10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position to be filled.Specialized Experience includes: Experience examining aircraft registration, recordation, and supporting documents in order to effectively review, document, report, and correct errors made by Legal Instruments Examiners; experience checking work packets and documenting errors of Legal Instruments Examiners; experience in providing assistance to employees in formal training, on-the-job training, and those affected by the changes in the Registry’s automated environment.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
