You will serve as a Supervisory Range Planner in the Operations and Training Department of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON. Duties

You will provide primary planning oversight of Training Resource and Range Planners who have responsibility for a multitude of projects and initiatives. You will take disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands. You will identify developmental and training needs of employees and arranges for needed development and training. You will ensure planning oversight of all Range, Training area, Training system, and Live-Virtual Constructive project development and sustainment. You will verify the accuracy of engineering designs of assorted training ranges/facilities. You will attend range and training resource related conferences, briefings, and tours.

Requirements

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning, coordinating, and managing range and training area facilities and systems; planning various training related projects; and validating training requirements, formulating training solutions, developing project plans and managing program execution.
