You will serve as a SUPERVISORY COMMUNITY PLANNING LIAISON OFFICER in the Assistant Chief of Staff G-7 (Government and External Affairs) Dept. of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You will provide counsel to the Commanding General and the Chief of Staff as well to the Asst. Chiefs of Staff on a broad range of community relations and community planning issues, and other matters of intergovernmental relations w/outside agencies.
You will provide professional intergovernmental guidance and consultation services regarding issues under CP and LO cognizance to the CO, Chief of Staff, and all Asst. Chiefs of Staff.
You will remain informed about political, environmental, social, economic, governmental or administrative matters at the local level that may affect performance of the Basse mission.
You will coordinate the Bass staff review of any proposed fed, state or local agency legislation, regulations, guidelines, programs, plans or documents pertaining to intergovernmental coordination, encroachment matters.
You will develop position papers, Base regulations, proposed legislation initiative and other guidelines required to facilitate effective on-base land use planning actions or counter encroachment issues.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized Experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Using community planning principles, (i.e., community planning, land use planning, master planning, environmental planning etc…), to advise and/or provide recommended courses of action to executive and/or high leveled echelon staff members;
Analyzing new data or unfamiliar information and making informed decisions or recommendations that have the potential to significantly change established procedures or programs policies for the benefit of the organization, (e.g., Base);
Implementing multifaceted encroachment control and community relations programs, w/a purpose of protecting and preserving long-term viability and mission capability;
Monitoring and reporting on encroachment activities and/or incompatibilities land use development that could affect the organizations mission, (e.g., Base mission, training ranges, special use airspaces, amphibious sea space and maneuver area);
Establishing and maintaining an extensive liaison and information distribution network w/both internal staff & various external entities, (e.g., on-base staff and various off-base entities), to include local communities, governmental agencies, public elected official and other organizations.
