This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA -ACQC/TRANSPORT PEO.
Duties
Plans and designs a wide variety of visual designs and visual communication products for internal and external distribution. Areas for use include administrative, information publications, briefings, training, seminars, and conference materials.
Researches and designs, develops, and maintains the directorate's program and project content that is visually appealing and enhances the image of the directorate.
Includes drawing, designing, and selecting detailed presentations, art, photographic materials, graphics, and other visual media to create, complement, or supplement power point presentations, exhibits, printing material, brochure.
Conducts studies to determine the effectiveness of visual program/project products in communicating the overall message intended for the audience.
Assist the directorate program and project managers with graphical presentations in order to illustrate or convey a clear interpretation of the message intended for the reader.
Retouches and repositions existing media utilizing the full spectrum of graphical tools provided.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-12, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other art work, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in IT related researching, developing, planning, and designing wide varieties of visual designs through communication products for internal and external distribution while using technical competence assisting project managers with graphical presentations.
