This position for The Defense Information Systems Agency is at SS-Office of the Director - Multimedia Production Section Fort Meade, Maryland.

Duties

Create exceptional, on-time graphic designs that effectively convey messaging and achieve campaign objectives while operating within established brand standards. Works closely with printing staff, DLA Printing, and outside vendors when applicable, to ensure prints meet quality standards and relay appropriate information. Communicates ideas clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders and can identify and solve design problems creatively and efficiently. Uses attention to detail to ensure that designs are polished and error-free. Works within DISA visual information guidelines, DoD Instruction 5040.02, Section 508, and applicable federal guidelines to properly archive final projects and key associated elements for future use and compliance purposes.

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • This position requires a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Time In Grade: For entry at the GS-13 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in the Federal Service. Minimum qualifications for GS-13: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as experience conceiving, creating, and delivering high-impact visual communications that support an agency's mission and strategic goals and have a deep understanding of design principles and elements, as well as the latest trends and technologies. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Competencies: Communications and Media, Creative Thinking, Multimedia Technologies, and Technical Competence Qualification and time-in-grade requirements must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

Education
