About the Position: Serves as the Chief of Operations and supervises Army civilians. Responsible for the coordination,execution, and management of all organizational activities and synchronization and scheduling of allcampus resources and facilities of the Medical Readiness Battalion (MRBn), Brooke Army MedicalCenter (BAMC).

Duties

Supervises the coordination, organization, and management of MRBn operations that ensure the effective and issuance of task, operations, and execution orders. Serves as a major contributor in the strategic planning for advancement and improvement of the Battalion resources, equipment, and facilities. Exercises full supervisory authority over a staff of civilian personnel. Serves as the central staff officer and subject matter expert regarding use of the automated Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS). Supervises organization-wide training management.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 3, Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position requires Immunization Screenings.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) recommending actions to execute current operational orders based on mission requirements, 2) assisting with development of operational/planning orders, 3) preparing instructional material to deliver informational briefings, and 4) reviewing work assignments of others for completeness and accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management or Operations Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
