About the Position: The pay band NH-03 includes the General Schedule grade equivalent to GS-12 to 13. Other initiatives under the Acquisition Demonstration Project include simplified classification, streamlined hiring process and expanded developmental opportunities.
Duties
Serves as a Commodity Manufacturing Manager responsible for overall management, control, coordination, and execution of specified projects and programs related to an ammunition production/manufacturing function.
Oversees subordinates on work related problems and identify developmental and training needs
Assists technical and managerial personnel in procurement planning.
Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, set-up, and reporting of assigned projects/program segment(s).
Manages and monitors execution of production/manufacturing programs, ensuring commitments, obligations, and deliverables meet customer requirements and agreements.
Allocates and manages resources (including facilities) required to successfully accomplish production/manufacturing requirements.
Requirements
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires a Noncritical-Sensitive, Secret level security clearance.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Engineering and Technical Management Foundational certification within 36 months as of entrance on duty.
- U.S. Citizenship is required. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- One-year supervisory probationary period may be required.

Qualifications
This position is being filled using the Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD. Based on the provisions outlined in the DHA authority, you will be converted to a new appointment.

Specialized experience: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (NH-02). Specialized experience is defined as: 1) Assisting in project and programs related to ammunition production/manufacturing functions 2) Conducting performance monitoring, maintenance, and sustainment support for assigned projects/programs, and 3) Establishing Statements of Work for major support contracts.
