You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Contracts Department (02), Deputy Contracts (02B) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. The salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $134,435).

Duties

You will serve as lead for metrics and data call reporting for Code 02 that requires regular interface with senior level personnel within 02 as well as the Command on acquisition concerns including performance metrics and workload status. You will design and execute standard and ad hoc reports from various internal and external databases for both standard and ad hoc data calls for various agencies, Crane Command, 02 Leadership and supervisors. You will provide solutions to requests not clearly defined and may require multiple iterations before final deliverable is accepted. You will collaborate with contract writing system(s) administrator to ensure proper training of employees in order to have valid data to use. You will analyze data for trends and make recommendation for improvement. You will assist the close out team by providing data relating to contract completions, payments, and other aspects of contract close out. You will coordinate with other departments on data calls requiring information relating to procurements and acquisition metrics.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent grade level) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and coordinating contracting and procurement data to identify trends and make recommendations for improved processes and procedures required for development and management of acquisition requirements for contract programs.
