You will serve as a LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) of USMC RECRUITING COMMAND.
Duties
You will conduct liaison with both houses of the Congress (staffers, and professional staff members of the House and Senate Committees).
You will prepare statements, issue papers, fact sheets and other material for MCRC Commanding General's use in responding to requests or inquiries from Members of Congress and their staff.
You will maintain access to the Secured Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) tasking systems for the section.
You will serve as the G-3 Plans and Research section program manager for external inquiries, tasks, and requests for information.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting in evaluating, researching, and interpreting legislative affairs regarding Marine Corps recruiting, and coordinate variety of correspondence, memoranda, and personal inquiries and requests from all areas of Congressional sources regarding recruiting.
GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating legislative affairs and provide interrelationships and inter-workings of the complex management systems governing funding, prioritization, resourcing, and execution.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education, as follows:
GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
