About the Position: This position serves as William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) Credentials Manager and has administrative and technical authority and expertise to oversee the credentialing/privileging process for the hospital and to include 13 subordinate clinic locations.

Duties
Plan, monitor and perform the functions of the WBAMC credentials/privileging program encompassing the reserve component and subordinate clinics.
Responsible for the review for compliance and maintenance of over 1200 health care providers credentials.
Support the MTF quality management program (QMP) through integration of credentials/privileging process with other components of the QMP supporting The Joint Commission (TJC).
Initiate adverse privileging action notifications and prepare detailed reports to higher headquarters as required based on outcome of Credentials Meetings.
Oversee development of meeting agenda and briefs the Chairman and Credentials Committee on agenda items.
Provide Credentialing/privileges to attached healthcare units.
Serve as Chief, Credentials Office, and supervise clerical and administrative personnel.
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on the credentialing/privileging process; utilizing automated healthcare systems to enter and retrieve data; and assisting with workload distribution among subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, Business or Public Administration with course work in Health Care Administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
