Duty Location: Sacramento, California and Willows, California
The final determination of the duty station for this position will be made by the selecting official at the time of the job offer.
Duties
Provides technical assistance to project managers in creating, and maintaining, and executing project management plans.
Estimates requirements, monitors compliance, performs quality assurance checks, troubleshoots problems as they may occur, and makes recommendations for correction.
Monitors progress and provides direction and recommendations to improve efficiency in the workflow process while maintaining a quality product.
Analyzes project performance to identify systemic and localized issues that preclude efficient project management.
Provides project progress updates to upper management.
Reviews project management performance data, identifies performance issues, and notifies the appropriate program manager for resolution.
Prepares a wide variety of project management reports.
Qualifications
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-9, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-09 level in federal service having demonstrated experience preparing a variety of reports related to projects, entering project performance data or other data into an electronic database; analyzing project milestones and budgets of projects; reviewing and assisting with the development of project management plans; monitoring progress of projects. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR an LL. B. or J.D., if related.
To qualify at the GS-11, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-09 level in federal service having demonstrated experience with project management processes and policies; analyzing and/or entering project performance data; preparing a variety of reports related to projects; managing project milestones and budgets of assigned projects; assisting project managers in creating, maintaining, and executing project management plans; monitoring progress of projects. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 10/21/2024.
Education
