About the Position: The incumbent will be assigned to the 406th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
Duties
Oversee stock control (requisitioning, receiving, inspecting, storing, safeguarding, inventorying, and issuing subsistence items from the subsistence warehouse) and programming, and review of local purchases for Class I items.
Establish subsistence military standard requisition and issue procedures for various local purchase items.
Prepare annual forecasts for operational rations and new mission requirements.
Conduct budget programming, prepare requisitions or contracts, manage reimbursable transactions/invoicing, plan for replacement equipment, and suggest facility improvements in support of the Subsistence Supply Management Office.
Coordinates authorized menu items with the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia and the Defense Automatic Addressing System-Columbus to ensure billing for subsistence items is properly charged to the right accounts.
Manage the prime vendor program to ensure that subsistence items are received timely.
Participate in USDA (US Department of Agriculture) audits as they pertain to the items provided through the prime vendor contracts to observe and document quality and USDA compliance.
Monitor established contracts requirements in support of the Subsistence Supply Management Office.
Provide subsistence requirement data based on consumption and forecasts prior to contract renewal efforts.
Requirements

- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 pounds in the regular performance of duties.
- This position may require the incumbent to work evenings, weekends, and/or holiday hours to include overtime, as mission dictates.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing supply work in support of an organization's subsistence operations; 2) Performing stock control (requisitioning, receiving, inspecting, issuing, or inventorying) for subsistence supplies; 3) Utilizing automated supply systems for supply or inventory management; and 4) Resolving subsistence supply problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
