This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Perform sustainment and depot level medical maintenance services on highly complex medical systems and evaluates equipment for functionality.
Use knowledge of equipment design and capabilities to diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify faulty components.
Interpret outputs to validate medical equipment and systems are operating properly in accordance with the manufacturer's design.
Diagnose system interfaces, including inputs and outputs to determine hardware/software failure and corrects malfunctions.
Operate a wide variety of invasive and non-invasive Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment to evaluate medical equipment and devices.
Serve as a Team Leader. Coaches and mentors the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques.
Identify and coordinate training requirements, to include specialized training associated with unique expertise requirements.
Prepare reports, maintain records, and coordinate the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information.
Investigate equipment hazard alerts, recalls, updates, and incidents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

- Travel to other duty locations 40% of the time.

- Incumbent must possess and retain a valid vehicle operator license.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Servicing highly complex medical systems; (2) Maintaining records of work accomplishments and administrative information AND 3) Identifying specialized training requirements associated with unique expertise requirements for technicians. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
