This position is located in the Centralized Support Division. The incumbent serves as the liaison between the supervisor and employees relative to obtaining resources and securing needed information or decisions from the supervisor-on major work problems and/or issues.
Duties
You will provide administrative support to the Team.
You will prepare change of addresses, process release of information requests, maintain the integrity of the claims folder during folder review by claimants, and retrieve the claims file when needed.
You will provide information for statistical and narrative reports, as needed.
You will review evidence received for case completeness.
You will follow-up to ensure that requested information is received for development actions.
You will assist the supervisor in ensuring organizational goals are integrated into the unit's strategies, objectives and work plans.
You will serve as a mentor and conduct unit training.

Specialized Experience:
GS-07: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-06) in the federal service or private sector. Specialized experience is work experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Experience with commonly applied claims and files procedures or operations requiring high attention to detail;
Utilizing electronic records systems for record retrieval capabilities;
Generating various types of correspondence, (i.e. letters, reports of contacts, reports, and responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests or congressional inquiries).
Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
