About the Position: This position is located in the DES, Police/Provost Marshal Division, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Ft. Wood is located in the beautiful South-Central Missouri Ozarks. It covers more than 61,000 acres and is located in Pulaski County, MO. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Ft. Leonard Wood.
Duties
Perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and office automation functions in support of the installation Provost Marshal Office and the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
Verify, research and request data from the appropriate agency when case reports are unclear or data elements, charges or codes are missing or inaccurate.
Utilizes computer to prepare daily correspondence along with retrieving statistical data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be required to work overtime. Assignment schedule requires continuous availability in the event of emergencies.
- TDY may be required up to 10% of the duty time.
- A fully qualified typist is required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviews reports for errors and makes need corrections; 2) Generates reports after verifying data; 3) Prepares correspondence for management, and 4) Edits outgoing communications and makes any required changes for processing. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
