You will serve as a FACILITY OPERATIONS SPECIALIST for NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will oversee the operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment (e.g., building inspections, preventive maintenance, repair).
You will use an automated information system to create, manage, monitor, update, or modify work requests, spreadsheets, and other requests pertaining to facility operations.
You will design documents to provide management a visible assessment of facilities projects, their status, and pertinent information from different sources.
You will interpret guidelines and regulations (e.g., directives, technical publications, doctrinal publications) pertaining to facilities operations to accomplish assignments and resolve problems.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
For the GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance to stakeholders/customers on processes such as requesting work, funding jobs, and address related policies in regards to facilities maintenance; 2)Applying agency directives for facility administration/maintenance principles and techniques to determine condition of facilities and provide initial diagnosis of facility problems; 3) Gather and review scope and cost estimate requirements of a job/project and facilitate the induction of work; 4) Providing periodic review of work efforts in order to monitor the progression of work and brief stakeholders/customers; 5) Utilizing software modules (e.g. MAXIMO) to keep track of inventory of assigned buildings, inspect and validate inputted data, etc. NOTE: This experience must be clearly supported in your resume for you to receive further consideration for this position.
For the GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Monitoring schedules for maintenance and/or repair of facilities, identify any issues or concerns of projects and initiating appropriate communication when needed; 2) Evaluation and determines conditions of facilities; identifying recommendations for improvement; 3) Reviewing work requests and perform cost analysis and cost estimates to execute projects; 4) Managing information regarding facility inventory and associated data. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
For the GS-11:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration; or
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration; or
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
