Duties

Join us! Be a part of CDC's Moving Forward initiative by serving in the Safety, Security, Facilities, and Engineering Career Community in a Career Broadening position as a Supervisory Workforce and Career Development Specialist. Your contributions will help set strategy, policy, and drive coordinated and integrated talent models at the Enterprise level. Using your technical and operational expertise, you will provide support to the Safety, Security, Facilities, and Engineering career community to help develop a Workforce Prepared for Future Emergencies. We want you to be a part of this ground-breaking high- performance team! The primary purpose of the position is to provide Career Broadening developmental experiences designed to broaden the skills and/or enhance leadership perspectives. Once selected, you will be on a career broadening assignment for 24 to 48 months and deliberately outplaced by Career Community Leadership in conjunction with your inputs. You will be required to sign a Memorandum of Agreement to accept the position. As a Supervisory Workforce and Career Development Specialist for the Safety, Security, Facilities, and Engineering Career Community you will: Perform Career Broadening assignments/duties: Serve as a Supervisor for the Safety, Security, Facilities, and Engineering Career Community Support Team, under the Director of the CareerReady Program Center of Expertise. Develop, maintain, and implement a strategic plan for the assigned career community. Provide a central focus for an enterprise approach to employee development. Integrate programs and processes into long-range business plans and talent management requirements, and directly support the assigned Career Community Functional Executive Sponsor, the Career Community Leader and the Career Community Panel, made up of senior leaders from across the CDC. Collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a technical expert in the assigned career community.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing programs for an organization; identifying requirements and initiating requests for resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space; assessing and revising policies and procedures; and providing administrative and technical supervision to subordinates. Applicants must be willing to sign a Memorandum of Agreement to accept the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
