About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army National Guard Readiness Center, G-8, Financial OPNS CIV, in Arlington, Virginia.
About the Surrounding Area: Situated in Northern Virginia on the south bank of the Potomac River directly across from Washington D.C. Arlington is headquarters to many departments and agencies of the federal government, including the Department of Defense and is the location of many national memorials and museums.
Duties
Serve as the primary liaison as Internal Control Administrator for assigned line of business.
Implement internal control framework to ensure compliance.
Review key and essential functions to ensure that programs are mission ready and operating in compliance with governing regulations.
Review business processes, programs and systems used to manage and evaluate financial operations.
Prepare responses to external assessment findings for senior leadership to ensure the responses correctly identify operations and/or system remediations.
Advise in the preparation of agenda items, presentations and reports.
Perform follow up reviews and/or inspections evaluating the implementation of recommendations.
Analyze the effect of remedial measures taken to assure correction of deficiencies.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing research and analysis of internal controls across different lines of business to ensure conformance with all regulatory requirements; conducting analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of OMB A-123 annual reporting requirements, IAW Internal controls over financial reporting and operations, and/or IT systems; reconciling risk management framework to financial statement audit inefficiencies and results; assisting other areas of the organization with development of remediation plans; using business tools, applications, and/or performance metrics to provide recommendations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
