This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Critical Hiring Need, Sec 1105(b), PL 114-328, 12/23/2016 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
This is a Temporary position scheduled not to exceed 14 June 2025. Initial appointment may be more than one year but may not exceed 18 months.
About the Position: Serves as the administrative assistant for the unit's Family Readiness Group (FRG) Program.
Duties
Serve as the administrative assistant for the unit’s Family Readiness Group (FRG) Program.
Maintain oversight of FRG activities within the unit and updates the commander on the program status, controversial issues and services available to Soldiers and Family members.
Schedule and coordinate briefings, orientations and workshops on Soldier and Family readiness issues.
Prepare and distributes written information such as flyers, letters, calendars, newsletters, housing information, relocation packets, health care information, etc.
Participate in the recruitment and training of an active family readiness volunteer workforce.
Work closely with the Unit Commander, FRG leaders and various garrison agencies to schedule and coordinate briefings, orientations and workshops on Soldier and Family readiness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must obtain/maintain a NACI clearance.
- May be required to work irregular work schedules such as evenings, weekends and overtime.
- This is a TEMPORARY position scheduled not to exceed 14 June 2025 A TEMPORARY position may be extended to a total of 18 months depending upon the needs of management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience which includes; Performing a variety of clerical and/or administrative duties in support of an organization; implementing and maintaining family support services and resources for an organization; maintaining effective communication between the organization, community resources, and family members in need of assistance and utilizing various commuter software to prepare and for receive correspondence, reports and other documents in support of family readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
In addition to the above: Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
