Duties
Serves as supervisor of the Resource Management Division (RMD) responsible for the direction, coordination, and quality review of all resource management activities within the jurisdiction of the Montana Area Office (MTAO). Advises management on major issues, concerns, and problem areas that could impact successful program accomplishment.
Responsible for environmental compliance, recreation, land management, and the interpretation and implementation of Reclamation policies and procedures for the MTAO.
Provides managerial oversight and direction for the development, execution and coordination of land and natural resource activities to include realty transactions, environmental permitting, fish and wildlife habitat management and protection, accessibility compliance, riparian and wetland habitat management, access management, and geographic information system services.
Supervises and directs the activities of the RMD which includes the lands and recreation area associated with Clark Canyon Dam and Reservoir near Dillon, MT.
Qualifications

Basic Education Requirement:
A. Degree: A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in the biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry or related disciplines appropriate to this position.
OR
B. Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must also meet the qualification below. In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
GS-13:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty, complexity and scope to the GS-12 grade level in Federal service which includes experience providing oversight or managing a natural resource and/or land management project and leading a team of technical staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
This position has a mandatory education requirement. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. Non-submission will result in being rated not-qualified for the position.
