You will serve as an ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Environmental Affairs Division of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, executing and managing, development and oversight of the Water Quality Program.
You will be the subject matter expert, evidencing through knowledge in multiple technical programs ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
You will determine and establish needs, objectives, priorities, scheduling and commitment of resources effectively attaining branch, and program goals.
You will conduct routine sampling, accumulate process information, and analyze parameters required for laboratory analysis,
You will maintain, operate and input analytical data into the WaterTrax program ensuring integrity of all data storage.
You will prepare reports and follow up on findings of noncompliance and notices of violations for MCAGCC and consult corrective actions and ways to proceed for MWTC.
You will provide and advise management, supervisors, staff and operating officials on matters concerning environmental compliance and pollution prevention programs.
Requirements

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position is designated as Nonsensitive. Incumbent must complete a Tier 1 (SF 85) Investigation with a requirement of Favorable as final adjudication.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing a Water Resources Management program; planning, scheduling and executing laboratory and operational tests and performing sampling and analysis for various waste streams.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in implementing a Water Resources Management program; assisting in planning, scheduling and executing laboratory and operational tests and assisting in sampling and analysis for various waste streams.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-11:
Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
or
Successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D.
or
Equivalent degree. or successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
or
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education and experience must equal 100 percent.
GS-09:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
or
Possess a combination of specialized experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education and experience must equal 100 percent.
